When teenagers have behavioral health disorders that cannot be managed at home or within their school environment, the inpatient program at The Horsham Clinic can provide them with the care and treatment they need.
To help adolescent patients get acute crisis stabilization for an emotional, behavioral or mood disorder, we offer inpatient hospitalization for teens 13–17 (up to age 18 if the patient is still in school) in a stable, secure therapeutic environment. Older teenagers seeking treatment at The Horsham Clinic must still be enrolled in school.
We understand that teenagers can face a unique set of challenges that may impact their emotional or behavioral functioning. We also know how difficult it can be to place a young adult in inpatient care, and we work to help each adolescent return to their home and their community as quickly as is appropriate for their needs. Inpatient treatment is geared to provide short-term acute care, with a step down to our partial hospitalization program as needed. We endeavor to help young patients and their families fully understand the illness or problems at hand, build self-esteem and develop effective coping skills for a return back to their home environment.
Inpatient treatment for adolescents is offered at The Horsham Clinic’s secure, scenic 55-acre campus in Ambler, Pennsylvania. Young patients are separated by age, and receive treatment separately from young children or adults. We aim to provide a trusted, secure environment where adolescents can take begin to take steps toward a healthier, happier future.
We encourage teens in our care to develop resiliency skills that may help them endure chronic stress, loss, traumatic events and other challenges they could encounter after they are discharged.
